I started working on golf courses 20 years ago. After a couple of seasons I decided to go to college to get my turf degree. I have been a superintendent for 12 years and love every minute of it. Being outside and working with my hands combined with the business aspect and human resources gives me a different challenge each day. I thrive off the variety of work I get to do and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. GCSAA has been an integral part of my growth as a superintendent. After college there is still so much to learn. With the education offerings at GIS along with all the resources available on the website, you can keep learning throughout your whole career. That does not include the networking opportunities provided through GCSAA. Being able to connect with other superintendents and talk turf, keeps the ideas fresh and is a constant push to improve.
